DTC P2444 SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM PUMP STUCK ON

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

CAUTION:

After repairing or replacing the defective part, perform the Clear Memory Mode and Inspection Mode .

1.CHECK SECONDARY AIR PIPING PRESSURE.

1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

2) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read secondary air piping pressure data, and compare with the actual barometric pressure.

NOTE:

For detailed operation procedure, refer to “READ CURRENT DATA FOR ENGINE”.

Is the actual difference with barometric pressure 50 mmHg (6.7 kPa, 2.0 inHg, 0.97 psig) or more?

Replace the secondary air combination valve LH.

NOTE:

The secondary air pressure sensor is a built-in part of the secondary air combination valve LH.

2.CHECK POWER SUPPLY TO SECONDARY AIR PUMP.

1) Disconnect the secondary air pump connector.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

3) Measure the voltage between the secondary air pump and chassis ground.

(F11) No. 2 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

Is the voltage 10 V or more?

Temporary poor contact occurs. Check the poor contact of connector.

3.CHECK SECONDARY AIR PUMP RELAY.

1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2) Remove the secondary air pump relay from the relay box.

3) Measure the resistance between secondary air pump relay terminals.

Terminals

No. 4 — No. 5:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

Repair the short to power supply in the harness between the secondary air pump relay and secondary air pump connector.

Replace the secondary air pump relay.
