1. Remove the rear gate trim. 
2. Disconnect the connector of the license plate light on the wiper motor bracket.
3. Remove the 5 flange nuts from the rear gate panel inner side (vehicle side).
4. Close the gate and pull rear gate garnish assembly with hands.
5. Remove the rear gate garnish by pulling the harness of the license plate light.
CAUTION:
Forcefully pulling it can damage the clip. Be careful.

6. Remove the license plate light assembly from the rear gate garnish.
