DTC B2113 DRIVING POSSIBLE SIGNAL ABNORMAL

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

The analog data and serial data between the power supply CM and the ECM became mismatched.

CAUTION:

When the power supply CM is replaced with a new unit, and the battery ground terminal is connected, it will become ignition ON. Also, if the battery is disconnected, it will resume to a condition with the battery cut off.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Cannot start the engine, or the engine stops after starting.

STEPCHECKYESNO

1.CHECK CONNECTOR.

Check for abnormal conditions in the connection of the system connector, and the condition of the terminals (warpage, looseness, etc.).

Is there an abnormal condition in the connector?

Repair the connector, or replace harness.

2.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the power supply CM connector.

2) Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM connector and chassis ground.

(B420) No. 40 — Chassis ground:

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the connector from ECM.

2) Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM connector and the ECM connector.

4.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B420) No. 2 — Chassis ground:

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.

5.CHECK CURRENT DATA.

1) Display the current data «Engine Speed» of the power supply CM using the Subaru Select Monitor.

2) Read the data content in a condition with the engine stopped, and with the engine idling.

Does the data change to “Stopped” → “Rotating” respectively?

System is normal.

Perform check of the ECM.
