KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

There is a mismatch of the analog data and serial data between the power supply CM and steering lock CM.

CAUTION:

When the power supply CM is replaced with a new unit, and the battery ground terminal is connected, it will become ignition ON. Also, if the battery is disconnected, it will resume to a condition with the battery cut off.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

• There are conditions when the steering lock is not released.

• Engine will not start.

WIRING DIAGRAM:

STEP	CHECK	YES	NO
1.CHECK DTC. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTC of the collation CM.	Are B2201 and B2204 displayed?	Perform diagnosis according to the DTC.
2.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Disconnect the power supply CM connector. 2) Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM connector and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 6 — Chassis ground: (B420) No. 40 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity?		Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Disconnect the power supply CM connector and the steering lock CM connector. 2) Using a tester, check continuity between the steering lock CM connector and power supply CM connector. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 26 — (B424) No. 4: (B420) No. 32 — (B424) No. 3:	Is there continuity?		Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
4.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Connect the power supply CM connector. 2) Using a tester, check continuity between the steering lock CM connector and chassis ground in the steering lock → steering unlock condition. Connector & terminal (B424) No. 4 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity?		Replace the steering lock CM.
5.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. Check continuity between ground. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 26 — Chassis ground: (B420) No. 32 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity?	Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.
6.CHECK CURRENT DATA. 1) Connect the disconnected connectors. 2) Display the current data «Steering unlock SW» of the power supply CM using the Subaru Select Monitor. 3) Unlock the steering lock.	Does it change from lock (OFF) → unlock (ON)?	System is normal.	Replace the power supply CM.
