DTC B2202 ABNORMAL ANTENNA COIL

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Open or short in the immobilizer antenna coil.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

If there is no power left in the access key battery, the engine will not start even when the access key is held above the push button ignition switch.

1.CHECK ACCESS KEY.

Check that the engine can be started with all registered access keys.

Is there an access key that cannot start the engine?

Replace the access key that cannot start the engine, and perform registration of the access key.

2.CHECK SYSTEM CHECK.

1) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, clear the memory.

2) From the “Keyless access system check of collation CM”, select the «System check».

3) From the “System check”, select the «Immobilizer amplifier transmission».

4) Hold the access key above the push button ignition switch.

Does a buzzer sound when the access key is held above the push button ignition switch?

System is normal.

3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the collation CM and push button ignition switch connector.

2) Using a tester, check continuity between the collation CM connector and push button ignition switch connector.

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

4.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

Using a tester, check continuity between the collation CM connector and chassis ground.

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

5.CHECK COLLATION CM.

1) Connect the collation CM connector.

2) Using a tester, check the continuity between the push button ignition switch and chassis ground.

(B423) No. 8 — Chassis ground:

Is there continuity?

Replace the collation CM.

6.CHECK COLLATION CM.

Using a tester, measure the voltage between the push button ignition switch and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B423) No. 14 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

Is the voltage 4.5 — 5.5 V?

Replace the collation CM.

7.CHECK DTC.

1) Replace the push button ignition switch.

2) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory.

3) Read the DTC again.

Is a DTC output?

Replace the collation CM.

System is normal.
