DTC B2217 ID CODE BOX NO RESPONSE

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Information cannot be received from the ID code box for 10 seconds or more, or there is an open or short circuit in the harness between ECMs.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Engine will not start.

WIRING DIAGRAM:

1.CHECK DTC.

1) Connect the Subaru Select Monitor, and clear the DTC memory.

2) Read the DTC again.

Are there DTCs other than B2217?

System is normal.

2.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the collation CM connector and the ID code box connector.

2) Using a tester, check continuity between the collation CM connector and ID code box connector.

Connector & terminal

(B421) No. 10 — (B422) No. 3:

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

Using a tester, check continuity between the collation CM connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B421) No. 10 — Chassis ground:

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

4.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

Using a tester, check the continuity between the ID code box connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B422) No. 3 — Chassis ground:

Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

5.CHECK WIRING HARNESS.

Using a tester, measure the voltage between the ID code box connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B422) No. 1 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

Is the voltage 11 — 14 V?

Replace the fuse, or repair or replace the open circuit in the harness.

6.CHECK ID CODE BOX.

1) Replace the ID code box.

2) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, clear the memory.

3) Read the DTC code.

Is B2217 displayed?

System is normal.

Replace the collation CM.
