KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

There is no communication between the gateway CM and combination meter.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

The keyless access system warning light does not illuminate or goes off.

WIRING DIAGRAM:

STEP	CHECK	YES	NO
1.CHECK DTC. Read gateway CM DTCs using the Subaru Select Monitor.	Is B2017 past malfunction?	Check the harness for an open or short circuit, and check the connection of the connectors.
2.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Disconnect the combination meter, body integrated unit, and gateway CM connectors. 2) Using a tester, measure the voltage between the connectors and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (i84) No. 1 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (i84) No. 9 (+) — Chassis ground (−):	Is the voltage 4 V or more?	Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.
3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. Using a tester, check the continuity between the connectors and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (i84) No. 1 — Chassis ground: (i84) No. 9 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity?	Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.
4.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. Using a tester, measure the voltage between the connectors and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B419) No. 1 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (B280) No. 6 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (B281) No. 2 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (i10) No. 2 (+) — Chassis ground (−):	Is the voltage 10 V or more?		Check the fuse, or repair or replace the open circuit in the harness.
5.CHECK COMBINATION METER. Carrying the access key, check that the combination meter warning is displayed when the push button ignition switch is pressed.	Is the warning displayed?		Replace the combination meter.
6.CHECK DTC. 1) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, clear the memory. 2) Read the DTC of the gateway CM.	Is B2017 detected?	Replace the gateway CM.	System is normal.

NOTE:

If replacing the combination meter does not resolve the malfunction, replace the gateway CM.
