STEPCHECKYESNO

1.CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY.

Is any other DTC displayed?

Check the appropriate DTC using the “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”.

2.CHECK FUEL DELIVERY LINE (HIGH PRESSURE LINE).

Check fuel delivery line (high pressure line) using Subaru Select Monitor.

WARNING:

When checking fuel delivery line during engine operation, be very careful so that one's hair, body and clothes do not touch the rotating part in the engine compartment.

NOTE:

For detailed procedures, refer to “High Pressure Fuel Inspection”.

Are there leaks from the fuel delivery line (high pressure line)?

Replace the faulty fuel delivery line.

3.CHECK ENGINE OIL AMOUNT.

Check the engine oil amount.

Does the engine oil amount increase significantly?

Check the fuel leaks into engine internal.

NOTE:

Using «Injector Control (Injection Stop Mode)», identify the cylinder where fuel leaks is occurring to check intensively. In cylinder where the fuel leaks is occurring, the engine behavior change is small or does not change even when the injector is deactivated.

4.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR.

1) Disconnect the connector from the common rail pressure sensor.

2) Measure the resistance between common rail pressure sensor terminals.

Terminals

No. 1 — No. 2:

No. 2 — No. 3:

Is the resistance No. 1 — No. 2: approx. 13.7 kΩ and No. 2 — No. 3: approx. 2.5 kΩ?

The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

Replace the common rail assembly.
