MECHANICAL(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Chain Cover
1. Check the chain cover surface for scratches or dents.
2. Check for oil leakage on the chain cover mating surface and at the crank pulley attachment location. If there is an oil leak from the oil seal, perform replacement with a new oil seal.

Oil seal press-fit position:
Chain cover end face — Position of −1 mm (−0.0394 in) from the chain cover end face

3. Check that there are no grooves or cracks on the idler pulley or idler pulley cover.
Tightening torque:
33 N·m (3.4 kgf-m, 24.3 ft-lb)
