MECHANICAL(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Reduction Sprocket and Gear
1. Using ST, align the position of the crank gear key at the 3 o’clock position as shown in the figure.

2. Visually check the rear of the oil pump, and make sure that the timing mark is at the 12 o’clock position of the crank gear.
3. Attach the reduction sprocket and gear.
(1) Attach the reduction sprocket and gear plate.
(2) Assemble the reduction sprocket and gear and the reduction sprocket and gearshaft.
(3) Match the positions of the crank gear timing mark and reduction sprocket and gear timing marks, and attach the reduction sprocket and gear.
NOTE:
• There are two types of timing marks stamped on the reduction sprocket and gear.
• The singular timing mark stamp is the one that will be matched with the crank gear timing mark.
• Look in from the side of the oil pump, and make sure that the timing mark is matching.
(4) Attach the reduction sprocket and gear plate.
Tightening torque:
25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
(5) Remove the ST from the reduction sprocket and gear.

7. Attach the oil level gauge and oil level gauge guide to the chain cover.
20. Install the under cover.
21. Lower the vehicle.
24. Connect the ground cable to battery.
