INSPECTION

1. Check that the accelerator pedal can be operated smoothly with no catching when depressed.

2. Check that the accelerator pedal returns smoothly to its original position when the driver's foot is removed.

1. CHECK WITH CIRCUIT TESTER

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

2. Remove the lower inner trim of passenger’s side.

3. Turn over the floor mat of passenger’s seat.

4. Remove the protect cover.

5. Disconnect the ECM connector.

6. Connect the special tool between the ECM and chassis ground.

7. Connect the ground cable to battery.

8. Turn the ignition switch to ON. (engine OFF)

9. Measure the voltage between the check board connector terminal and chassis ground.

Terminals:

No. 39 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

No. 28 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

2. CHECK WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to the vehicle.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. (engine OFF)

4. Read the voltage of accelerator sensor using Subaru Select Monitor.
