REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Avoid removing the glow plugs as much as possible. If they must be removed, remove all carbon deposited on the glow plug hole and glow plug.

If the glow plug must be removed, check continuity before reinstallation.

Always replace glow plugs that have been dropped or otherwise exposed to physical shock during removal, even if there is no visible external damage and the resistance values are normal.

Do not hit tools against the fuel delivery pipe.

1. 1ST/3RD-CYLINDER SIDE

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

2. Remove the collector cover.

3. Remove the air intake duct.

4. Disconnect the air breather hose from the air intake boot.

5. Disconnect the air intake boot from the air cleaner case (rear) and move aside to the front of the vehicle.

6. Disconnect the engine harness clip from the intake manifold protector.

7. Remove the intake manifold protector.

8. Disconnect the connector from the glow plug.

9. Use a deep socket to remove the glow plug.

NOTE:

Clean around the glow plugs by applying air before removing the glow plugs.

2. 2ND/4TH-CYLINDER SIDE

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

2. Remove the collector cover.

3. Disconnect the engine harness clip from the intake manifold protector.

4. Remove the intake manifold protector.

5. Disconnect the connector from the glow plug.

6. Use a deep socket to remove the glow plug.

NOTE:

Clean around the glow plugs by applying air before removing the glow plugs.
